Film ini Bercerita tentang Manny dan para sahabatnya yang terjebak dalam bencana apokaliptik atau kiamat yang disebabkan oleh kejadian kosmik. Bencana disebabkan oleh si tupai Scrat yang tanpa sengaja menerbangkan piring terbang ke luar angkasa dengan kecepatan tinggi dan menabrak sebuah planet. Tabrakan kemudian menyebabkan planet keluar jalur, lalu bertabrakan dengan planet yang ada didekatnya. Akibat tabrakan itu, dua planet menjadi hancur berkepingan-keping. Dan kepingan dari dua planet yang bertabrakan itu mengarah dan mengancam kehidupan di bumi. Akibat bencana itu, Sid (kukang), Manny (mammoth), Diego (harimau Sabretooth) dan hewan purba lain berusaha untuk mencari lahan baru.
